Tuesday 11th of February, 2020

Summer calls for sunless tan, your favourite summer outfits, and of course some perfectly painted nails to match! We take a look at 5 of our favourite nail trends for the season, and show you how you can turn heads using some of our favourite Kester Black shades.

Denim Blues

This year's Pantone colour of the year was named as Classic Blue - and we're jumping on board the trend with denim blues being one of our favourite nail colours for the year ahead. Universally flattering, dark blue tones are versatile enough to match almost any outfit - while still giving your fingertips a pop of colour. Match this one with a silver accent or add your own jewels to amplify your summer style.

Our Kester Black pick: Periwinkle

Cherry Reds

You can never go wrong with a red nail, and we're loving cherry tones this season. When we think of cherries, we think of how delicious they are - baked in a pie or on top of an ice cream sundae - there's something about bold cherry reds that seem to capture the essence of summer. If you want to experiment, try creating your own designs with a mix of red and soft pink, or add in a nude tone for a geometric look.

Our Kester Black pick: Cherry Pie

Pretty Pastels

Pretty pastels are a great way to draw attention to your nails, and mint green gives us total 60's vibes which is exactly what we're looking for during festival season. Whether you like to stick with a different shade on each nail for a fresh look, or mix with darker tones to create your own accents - the pastel trend isn't going away anytime soon.

Our Kester Black pick: Bubblegum

Lovely Lilacs

Soft lilacs on your fingertips are sure to make your summer tan pop. Like the wildest hydrangea, lilac won’t tell you if it’s blue or purple. But we’re not mad about it - this mysterious shade is a total eye-catcher. We love how this colour can accent any outfit, and we love the way it looks combined with silvers or darker violets.

Our Kester Black pick: Aquarius
